How Much More Expensive Is It To Print My Photos On My Own Inkjet Printer?

as opposed to having them printed out in a photo lab
IS IT WORTH SPENDING MONEY ON AT-HOME-PRINTING?

    The ink can be very expensive. Judging by the speed of use of a recent remanufactured print ink for a HP I would say that it is marginal.
    However, you do have the advantage that you do not get print images done without seeing the picture first.
    You can get selected photos printed out in a shop, probably at a cheaper cost than the ink from your printer! However, you have to travel to and from a shop. Perhaps there are some online picture printing specialists that do it cheaply and then post the results to you?

    Depends what kind of inkjet you have because the cost is different for each of them.
    For instance in the link below I compared a bunch of different inkjet printers which are dedicated for photo printing.
    The cost variation is from 6.9 Cents to 14.9 cents for a 6 x 4 picture I think.
    The upper and lower limit are lower than what I normally pay to get my pictures developed which is around 35 cents.

    You can buy an inkjet printer for as little as £25. Include photo paper and you are talking about 60p an A4 print or less.
